8.5/10

Marketing made simple provides an easy-to-use framework for communicating with your customers. Donald provides sound advice on funnel creation for small businesses and easy-to-use templates and exercises. Although the book doesn’t cover marketing as we would define it, Miller makes a compelling case for communicating effectively and teaches you how.

3 Takeaways

  1. Frame your messages as if you are the guide, not the hero in your customer story.
  2. “Most of us are so concerned with the way our brands looks and feels; we neglect to communicate what customers are actually looking for: a solution to their problem.”
  3. You need a 1-liner for your business to grow. An effective 1-liner consists of a problem, solution, and result, replacing the need for a 30-second elevator pitch. The more precise you deliver this, the more clients you will have and the faster your business will grow.

For small business owners, I recommend reading this book if you haven’t figured out how to use your website for your marketing and lead generation.
